V-Slot material specifications

    Hi All

    Does anyone know what weight/load V-Slot can take, I want to make a rolling road for my 5" gauge loco out of V-Slot and mount the ball races directly onto the v-slot with a spacer between.

    Dimensions hopefully are as follows,
    2 off 20 x 40 x 1 meter long
    3 off 20 x 80 x 200 mm long

    Weight of loco approx 100 kgs

    Dimensions and design can and will change as and when something changes.

    If I think of anything else I'll add it.

    That will depend on how you support it. If only supported at the ends the link below tells you how to calculate deflection. If supported along it's length it will obviously support more.
