After resurfacing my spoilboard on my lead 1515 and doing maintenance items I stepped to the back of my machine observing the lead screw on the x axis when i noticed something riding on the lead screw.
After a closer look it appears that the bearing part of the flange bearing has seperated from the flange itself breaking away from it.My machine is less than a year old and ive only run it about 8 hours total time.
Defective part? Anyone else have this happen? Possible causes? Seems impossible to me.

I appreciate that, but for the price of the bearing Ill just replace it. Just wandering what caused it.

Your leadscrews will vibrate, and that will be absorbed by the bearing - it's like hitting the bearing with a very small hammer hundreds of times a second. Better that the bearing eventually fails than the plates wearing.

Over-tensioning the lead screw will also do it. Really should be using thrust bearings in these systems.
