Er-11 nut stripped?

    So I was swapping out my 1/4” collet to the 1/8” and when I went to tighten it just slipped like it stripped out ? Seems crazy but could it be anything else?
    Am I screwed and need to buy another router now

    you are putting the collet into the nut (must click into the retainer ring) before putting the bit into the collet, right?
