Hello, my name is Alfred. I've been building RC airplanes for a long time ago, but now I'm interested in build a CNC laser cutter to cut balsa wood and plywood. The thing is that I know a lot about airplanes but nothing about CNC laser cutters. I have to question what machine do you recommend that I would start to build. Software, motors, etc and some tutorials about this world. I've been searching a lot but all of this is too new for me and I don't know how start.
I hope you will help me, thanks!

    Hi
I to am finishing up a CNC to cut rc airplane parts. I'm finishing up a workbee 750x1000 with the blackbox controller on it. I just mounted a makita on it for now till I learn more about doing this. I figured it was a few bucks cheaper to go this route for now, but who really knows after having to buy bits. I figured I can make large sides for the fuselage parts then "finger" glue joint them together.

My experience with Laser cut kits is you want a 40watt co2 laser, then you can cut 1/4" birch ply and 5/16" balsa with good results.
I out-sourced all my laser cut jobs :(
There are some people around open-builds with amazing co2 laser builds.
    Cheers
    Gary
