CNCMD, you're absolutely correct. Brand new not-worn lead screw blocks also a major reason. Thanks for watching and the comment.

I figured out that the clunk-clunk-clunk motion issue was due to a rather inefficient LCD I2C driver. Wrote my own driver that reduced 63mS of CPU cycles to write display to 1.3mS. Now my jog wheel and GRBL motion is silky smooth. Warning, this video is a detailed discussion of embedded firmware, hardware and GRBL interactions.

Managed to burn out my first end mill this morning and crashed my Hyatt machine twice. What a morning!

Almost ready to actually make a speaker cabinet. Here's my solution to route the box joints on my Openbuilds Workbee1010.

Using those vacuum pads vertically is a brilliant idea!

I've just been messing around with clamps under my table to make box and dovetail joints and your solution is far more elegant.

I'm now going to order some and a vacuum pump and think of a good excuse for my wife as to why I'm spending yet more money on my CNC machine ;)

    Thanks for posting that.

Thanks Adam. I'm still working out the details on vacuum clamp work piece fixturing. Also I only have 2 clamp in place, I might need 4 for a secure grip. I'll let you know. Have a great weekend.

So I'm back to making my speaker cabinets again. I'll post a video of that soon. In the meantime, here's a build video you might like,

I haven't been here for a while but I'm still chugging along. I decided to replace my custom grbl board with Masso G3 controller. Here's my first of several videos using this controller.
