Hi team - Just got my x32 and power supply today, and I'm super excited. I'll be moving from the inventables stock controller, and I have a few questions: Can I just export my GRBL settings and then either import them or type them in to transfer everything? Is there a wiring diagram anywhere for the x-carve steppers? I saw something somewhere that wire colors are different? Anything else I need to focus on to make the change? Thanks!
I can't answer most of your questions but this one is fairly simple. Wiring color varies with every manufacturer but color is only really important for consistency. You need to identify the wiring pairs (the continuous loop) and this is done using a multimeter or other continuity tester. Can also be done simply by holding two wires ends together and noting an increased stiffness when turning the motor. Label these (and all the similarly colored wires on the other motors) the A-A pair. Wire up all the motors using the same color pattern. If you have an opposing motor as would be found on the Y-axis in a belted system, just reverse the wiring order on one of the motors.
