I am working on my first cnc guitar body and have some concern about clearance on my z axis. The body blank is around 1.75 and that doesn’t leave much room with router placement and bit. I need some advise. Can I move the router up in the clamp...if so, how much is safe? Hope that makes sense.

I will say the you can move it up with no problems but try to keep it at the spec'd material height of the LEAD at 2".

Marc made 2 guitars bodies on the LEAD and the black that was used was 2".

Another option that you could explore is to remove the spoil board for this project.

Thank you! I’ve thought about the spoiler board. How long should the bit be?

To do a guitar you need to make a dual side operation so the cut high of the bit could be from 3/4" to 1" and thus you can clear both sides considering you have a 2" body
