I can confirm that replacing the sd on an ekocycle with a new sd containing cube 3 files loads and works up to activation but I have forgotten my login used for activation. until cube support responds I am stuck.

Unfortunately, it does not. The cubepro-encoder I believe only works with fw 1.10. It can still be downloaded, but the patch does not work for older firmwares. It is the preview picture that is interfering with the encoding process.

I wish we could patch older firmwares like v1.10 so we can so S3D. Otherwise figure out a way to decode/encode new files. I even tried decoding new files and iirc I got garbage so I think the password has changed.

I think the shortest path to success would be to find out if we can patch older firmwares. That would require getting help from the original developers of the toolbox.

I do want to point out that, FW 1.10 encoder does change the material length in the cubepro files which may have the same result as the hack, but I have not confirmed that.

Is it just that second bay that won't read? that eeprom reader is very delicate and goes back quite quickly, cubify sells a replacement for $18. Try to get some wire and get it to read like that.

Thanks for your reply, My 3d printer is cube single head, but I just see that my printer has all architecture for three jets, so I just install the second jet, and is heating and the steper is working, so make a hack chip for abs material and I make a conection de motherboard for a second cartridge conexión and both conexion is working because remplace the secon with the first and the software detect it, now the issues is the software cube not show the second cartridge even if I put the chip and all is installed

I have a cubepro single as well. I'm not sure if its a simple as installing the parts, but maybe it is. I'd love to know if it works out for you. An extruder and knozzle from cubify is $200.

HI eychei... tryed to patch but an error massage appeared after patching the version 1.14b - telling me " error patching file" - cubetools change the name from original but did not save a patched version...Any ideas?
    thank you...

I think only FW version 2.0 can be patched. With 1.10 you can use the Codex method I think where the filament length is essentially set to zero in the .cubepro file.

Does anyone know how to get some cheap nozzle tips for the CubePro?
I have 2 "broken" nozzles. With "broken", I mean that the power cords are broken off the temperture sensors. Does anyone have any experience with fixing this?

Nozzle tips would be the next "culprit" to find a replacement for... hmmmm

Re the broken temp sensors, you mean they broke at the sensor level? or broken wire on the path?

The wire just broke off the temperature sensor. I will send a picture later today.

This worked for the Cube 3, but I'm also trying to modify a Cube Pro. I downloaded the most current version of the Cube Pro firmware from 3DS, but it was not compatible with the Cube Toolbox. Has anybody been able to bypass/modify the filament-counting process on a Cube Pro? If so, how?

The current thinking on Cube/Pro may be the Rekindle device or something similar.
The idea is that we reset cartridges rather than FW.

BTW: I have an interesting observation on the toolbox hack... My printers are now running 100% cartridges (uninitialized).
I suspect there is a buffer that filled up and after than, it doesn't care if can write to the cartridge or not.

Now those are really weird thermistors!!

Do the letters read any impedance? So may be we can use standard thermistors from prusa-compatible printers?

Was your printer hacked with the freethefilament firmware? or stock?

    Is this error persisting today?

    Hi, thanks for your answer.

We have Firmware 1.14B/V2 and I use cubepro-encoder.exe from GitHub - fritzw/cube-utils: Utilities for encoding .bfb files for the CubePro and CubeX 3D-printers it works really well and is much faster than codex. The lack of embedded image isn't a problem the files work both on the printer with V1.14B and load to the Cuepro software for viewing before printing. The problem with 1.14B is the filement length hack does not work and cubepro-encoder will not work with V2.0 firmware as the encryption key has been changed.

Replying to see if this can get attention. Would the author be willing to share how they found the area of the code which manages the counting mechanism and how they patched it?

To determine what the tool patched to prevent the Cube 3 firmware from updating the amount of product left on the spool, I patched the downloaded Cube 3 firmware and compared it with an unpatched version. There were only 4 changes to the firmware, and these were in the .HEX file.

Two of the changes were to update the checksum byte at the end of each modified line. The other changes change a 22 to a 10. The first sequence of text was :

122216 -- which was changed to 121016 and the checksum (last 2 characters) on the line was changed from 34 to 46

    The second change was:
142215 -- which was changed to 141016 and the checksum (last 2 characters) on the line was changed from CA to DC

I recorded these changes in a text editor, and then opened the Ekocycle firmware (V1.05) update in a HEX editor and searched for each of the changes found in the unpatched Cube 3 .HEX file and found one occurrence of each in the Ekocycle firmware. After making the changes from 22 to 10, the checksum on the first change 121016, was changed to 86, and the checksum for the second change was changed to 7A.

I then decided to be brave and download the modified firmware to my Ekocycle. The update work splendidly, and after printing a quick object, the percentage did not change on the cartridge I tested.

I'm a little confused. I downloaded the CubeToolbox v1.0 and it indicates the current FW: Cubepro v2.02 is unsupported. The original post seems to indicate this Firmware patch is intended for Cube3 and CubePro machines, but on this last page of replies it sounds like it is not compatible with CubePro. Does this patch work with CubePro Duo?

OK, apparently the patch will work with CubePro, but only with firmware v2.0 or earlier??? I found the link in this thread and downloaded Cubify 2.0. However, Cubify is the software, not the firmware. Where can we get ahold of the v2.0 firmware??
