I don't want to give an exact date, need see how quick we can do this first batch, i would hope within 2 weeks for the second batch.

As tim said, 15A is sufficient.

    Hi Ryan,

What size is the drag chain on the back, is it 30 or 20?

    Ryan,

    Thank you for your answer,

It will be mostly (95%) woodworking project i would be using it for, and occasionally aluminum to make some simple brackets or some thin 1-2mm aluminum face plates (100mmx100mm). For woodworking it would be part for small keepsakes boxes and parts for small furniture and also maybe the possibility to make cabinets.
For the small things i believe the 500x750 will be big enough, the 1500x1000 is tempting for the furniture parts. But if I wil not be able to cut aluminumparts with this, i'm leaning towards the smaller size.

One question regards to rigidity, which axes is it the most criticall in the larger ones is it both the x and y or mostly the x on the gantry so the z axis don't twist?

For spindle router, i'm deciding between a kress, makita, bosch or dewalt (230v version)
For controller i'm considering g540, xpro, or pibot.

I think it would best best to go for the smaller one then go from there, you could even just upgrade that one to be bigger as needed. The V-Slot rails are relatively inexpensive compared to other parts on the machine.

With the X-Axis there is a simple mod you could do to strengthen it, you could bolt the two 20x60mm rails together so they act as one. For the Y-Axis there isn't to much you can do to strengthen it, unless you lose the wheel brace, then you could add supports along it.

Would probably be better to start with a small CBeam machine!

After watching DazTheGas upgrade his OX with your plates I'm getting even more excited to receive my kit. The plates looked to be great quality and packed well.

The first couple of kits are due to go out tomorrow. We are just getting our processes nailed putting them together, so we should get quicker & quicker at shipping them.

Awesome Ryan! I've got parts coming in daily now. I should have everything in and waiting on that kit to arrive. Can I upgrade to 1-day shipping to US?

Looking at spindles for my kit would a 1.5kw be to big for this or is a 0.8kw better suited?

A 1.5kw may be ok, do you know what the weight is? 0.8kw should be perfect.

    Best Regards

there are two 1.5kw versions one with a diamater og 65mm and 2.6kg and one 80mm diamater that weights 4kg.
    the 0.8kw is 65mm and 2.8kg

I would stick to the 2.6 or 2.8kg options.

I received my kit this afternoon and have started assembly. Really impressed so far but I've ran into a problem on the X plate. One of the two 2060 extrusions is slightly larger than the other. When I try to adjust the eccentrics to remove the wobble one extrusion will be tight while the other has play. I've confirmed it is the extrusions because I've swapped them front to back with same result happening on the opposite side. Any fixes for this? I'm eager to get this thing done.

I am guessing when you say one is larger than the other you mean the height not the length? If so you have a set of eccentrics for each set of wheels, each set doesn't have to be set exactly the same as each other. Therefore you could set one set of eccentrics to be slightly different than the other to adjust for the smaller/larger rail.

Let me know how you get on.

The height is the issue. With one side the eccentric is as loose as possible while the other side is almost fully tightened. This still results in gripping the larger extrusion a little too tight causing friction. It will remove the wobble from the shorter one but I'm worried about wear since it still just barely grips one while being too tight on the other.

Yes it isn't ideal. Have you double checked that the 2 plates are square with each other?

Also have you got a digital caliper to measure the widths of the two extrusion? if so can you report back with the values.

If i need to send you a new rail, i would like to match it as close possible in width to one of the ones you already have.

They are square. I can swap the extrusions front to back and still have problems with the same piece. Using the short z axis extrusion I can get it to adjust just fine with the shorter extrusion. I do have a caliper but it'll be this afternoon before I'm able to get measurements.

Yup, sorry forgot you said that.

That's fine. May be worth also measuring the shorter one as we know that one works. And i will send one to match that.

Update: Problem is hopefully being resolved with 2 new extrusions for the X. Many thanks to both Ryan Lock and Mark Carew for the wonderful support!

I did finish my build so that I could wire everything up and get it connected to the g540 and pc. Everything is working as it should. 20150605_231211.jpg

This is the finished kit before I wired the electronics. Once the extrusions are replaced I'll be able to mount my router and make my first cut

Received my kit yesterday and will be starting build today. I must say this thing was packaged extremely well and plates look flawless. The instruction manual is also really nicely made. Really pleased with it so far.
