I have a 1010 with plasma add on and a Hyande 60DN I am finding its hard to fine any info on this plasma cutter. They talk about different size tips but the 60DN with the hand held torch only has one tip offered, I think the CNC has two or three. I hope this plasma cutter wasn't a mistake. Based at reading between the lines on Amazon the Air/Cut should be on Cut, but how about setting the Air pressure. I know it changes based on the thickness of the cut but does it change it self based on the amp setting? I have my compressor regulator set for 100PSI the Hynade's gauge reads 55PSI. I turned the compressor regulator down to 60PSI Hynade gauge still reads 55PSI, I am using a 50ft hose thats if I can remember 5PSI or 10PSI loss So I hoping the Hynade compensates for the amp change. I haven't cut anything yet I am on my way to the store to buy a female 240V plug right now i am plugged into 120V I know that setting can change when plugged into 240V but I thought I see what everyone has to say. Thanks
We use one too (see the First Cut video) quite happy with it so no not a mistake. One of the nicer ones (for the price) Not really many torches on the market - whatever brand you're going with for the machine, they all have some form of PT/IPT60 or PT/IPT80 torch on it. Mass production for the win there Air pressures are in your chart in the manual but also watch the video below. Learning a tool like a plasma by-hand before putting it on a machine can be beneficial. Machine really just replaces your hand moving it around. The rest are the same as manual cutting, so learn from that Check the gauge on the Plasma, but remember to test while air is flowing (Air test button) (pressure drops when it starts blowing it. No point having 100psi in the hose, needing 70psi for the cut, but while its running it drops to 50 because the hose is too long, or too thin or something else. You'll have telltale symptoms when you do the test cut though - low air pressure leaves a terrible cut edge Our first cut video talks you through that a little too Tuning Plasma inverter / air: First cut: (talking about air pressures around the 15min49 mark onwards)
I did know most of that and I have watched the video a few times that's a given when you're old and had a few strokes but I will watch it again, they kind of went by the Plasma cutter pretty fast. So I put the Hyande switch in the air position adjust air pressure at my compressors regulator. Other plasma cutters have their own regulator to adjust pressure so again just want to make sure. My compressor should work ok its 5 hp with a 80 gal tank 16 CFM @ 90 PSI. Hard to believe there's nothing in the owners manual about the air, cut and the 2T 4T switch and info on Amazon is incorrect. Thanks Again your not retiring anytime soon I hope.
I think our manual had a chart - but honestly it was way off. You'll get the hang of it though - its more like a wide field than a narrow gate your aiming for. T2 vs 4T = trigger mode, must be T2 or plasma won't turn off. 4T is more for hand cutting with a foot pedal The Hynade with stock nozzle is only 6cfm at 70psi-ish so should be fine Only 38 now so looong way to go
I am back tried to make my first cut Error # 36. How can I send the job log? This is your first cut I don't see anything different than yesterday when I loaded it form cam. Ok S is for plasma. Works fine now I need to test and make a tool sheets in Fusion by material thickness. I won't bother you anymore today I've had enough today, have a good weekend rest up I'll be cutting on Monday. Thanks
Grbl only takes on verb for power. S. Whatever you read about P=plasma probably from Mach3 days in the 1990s Its called advanced settings for a reason Dont Change it Jl
