I can start my blackbox controller and interface and it looks fine.
As soon as I jog using the interface it starts to jog and then crashes. I have to hit the emergency stop button unless it will crash into whatever way it is going.
    It was working fine yesterday.
I don't have the VFD on so no EMI from that.
I did notice it boots up really quick, normally it took a min or so but now it takes 10 secs? Any ideas?

so you are saying that you put a finger on the job button and it starts to move, you take your finger OFF the jog button and it does not stop moving?

what is your weather today? touch sensitive buttons can react to very dry or very wet weather

Hi yes, I turn the Blackbox on, I jog using the interface. A finger on the direction button it starts to move then the interface crashes and it carries on moving while the interface reboots.
So I have to hit the emergency stop button if not I assume it will just keep moving.

The strange thing is it used to take a few mins to boot up before, now it's 10 seconds?

It's in a heated outhouse so just the normal temp it is kept at most days.
Not dry or wet just steady temp

    Thanks

Damage to cable between the two or power supply problem where controller isn't providing enough power to Interface.

Supposed to be fast. Slow one was probably just failing or waiting for Wifi network not related

Hi thanks i never did set up the WiFi, when I first installed the blackbox control I had no WiFi close enough.

I do now, is there a link showing how to set it up?
What is the WiFi used for?

There is a testing access point saved (last used in factory to test) that might be slow if never configured. Speed up is perhaps a firmware update (wiped eeprom) or you someday clicked Reset Wifi in Tools and Utils menu, or you tried setting one up and it does reach it.

Thanks I've replaced the cable from control to interface, just the same problem.
Suddenly it starts working, next min you press z axis up and the y axis button will light up and it starts moving to the back.
Press set zero and it crashes, so it's not moving at all just a simple command.
The vdf is turned off, spindle is turned off..it seems it has a mind of its own

I've tried to do the device test mode..I have version 1.52

I plug it into a USB c, when it starts up I hold the MODE button and it goes into a device test mode...but there are only C1 to C5 not the long list as in the photos I see online? Thanks

    Cable fixed the reboot issue?

This is a different issue, more like EMI, 3rd party PSU or bad Earthing somewhere

No, the new cable didn't change anything.
It either crashes if you try to jog, if you press a job button say z up, one of the other buttons lights up and it starts moving in that direction. It's not just movements I tried to set a new xyz zero. All I did was touched the button and it crashed. I've left setting the WiFi up as I'd prefer it to work first...I've turned everything off in my workshop..lights, vfd. Extraction and the only thing working is the blackbox control and interface.
It's alway been a bit hit and miss..one minute works fine next min the touch button are so sensitive if you touch a fraction out of the zone it activates another button

The power supply was bought from ratrig a Meanwell power supply.
I've unplugged the interface and running it on my laptop at the moment and it seems to be fine, but it's early days.

I'd like to do a test on the interface but I only get 5 options on the device test page?

The items get added one by one as the test progresses. Complete the on-screen instructions for step 5 to move to step 6 for example.
But do note to run the test away from the machine (powered off USB in the house somewhere) to eliminate EMI

Can contact the store via Support > New ticket for further assistance though test won't help
