I finally got my motors connected to my BlackBox 32. I verified that the motors have proper continuity (tested from the connector that plugs into the BlackBox) and 24v power from the power supply to the blackbox. The motors dont appear to have any energizing torque nor does the CONTROL move any of the motors. I have 2 NEMA 23 and 1 NEMA 17 motor for my plasma cutter. Is there any GRBL settings that need to be set to enable the motors? Are there any lights that indicate proper status of the motors? I dont see any lights lit up above the current adjustment screws on the panel near the power switch. I dont have any limit switches configured. Do I need to do something for them to enable the motors? Any hints would be appreciated.
Yes. CONTROL > Grbl Settings > Select machine from the list > Save and reset when prompted (Custom is an option too, or pick nearest similar one as a base to work from). Several key parameters ($1,4,5, 6,10 etc) are set by the profiles
That worked!!! Thank you. Is there a GRBL reference available somewhere that I can use to better understand the parameters and how to set them? I built a custom CNC Plasma Cutter table based on plans CNC Plasma Cutter Plans, includes .stl files for printing. He used an Arduino board versus the BlackBox x32. He provided the settings he used, but I would like to get a better understanding of the rest of them.
Yes: Must-read material (all of it, even the pages that now seem irrelevant, the long FAQ page, all of it is GOLD to understand what Grbl expects from you to work right: Home to get you started and then the evolution, grblHAL's additional documentation: Home
