Hi i have blackbox x4 Looking to upgrade to 32 to keep y axis holding when rotary works without mechanical holding also avoid switching between Y and ROTARY and changing steps every time I’m using aspire and f360 as cad/cam Just not sure what i have to do with post processor or anything else need to change please advise
Dual Motors on Y1 is the correct way and works fine Aspire is not quite a 4-th axis CAM, so may need a post to wrap around A instead of X/Y as before. Fusion should be fine. Beta version has been out of about a month: added x#@ 4axis post. This is a Beta, test, test and test some more … · OpenBuilds/OpenBuilds-Fusion360-Postprocessor@2df201b
Tha Thank you for your help I know aspire has only wrapping But how to tell i have A axis along X axis So it not moving Y stepper motors
Ok thank you For fusion360 pp I don’t see anything to download, Im not sure what I have to do with it
Fusion post documentation is over on docs:software:fusion360 [OpenBuilds Documentation] Big green download button, and onscreen instructions will tell you what to do with it.
Yes, see added x#@ 4axis post. This is a Beta, test, test and test some more … · OpenBuilds/OpenBuilds-Fusion360-Postprocessor@2df201b
to be clearer, the file OpenbuildsFusion360PostGrblX32.cps does include A axis for the BlackBox X32 controller. You do need to read the post options in Fusion carefully so that you get the right settings. When you hover over a setting, a little help box pops up.
hi toolpath is ok but PP failed machine is setup whith A axis tried with another 4axsis pp no problem (i did not use it for real machining)

In the post options you selected the 'clearace height' retract option. This cannot work for A axis code, so you must select the other option, G53. Note that using G53 also means that the machine must be homed properly with Z high so the tool clears everything on the table.
received BB32 today and restored grble confg backup from my blackbox4 with some changes connected Y1&Y2 steppers in Y1driver jog X&Z no problem but, Y axis vibrating at 3500mm/m(old rapid speed) slow down until 1200 then its move smoothly but also not good torque, i stop it by hand with some resistance i checked wiring all good, then to connect them on blackbox4, its handle up to 1600/1700mm that drop too much around 70% and not strong im not sure i mess something or black box cant handle them video below
Which changes? Did you set Current per Documentation? docs:blackbox-x32:currentadjustment [OpenBuilds Documentation] What kind of vibration? Could be wiring: docs:blackbox-x32:faq-identify-motor-coils [OpenBuilds Documentation]
changed $4=1 to 0 $5=0 to 7 $6=disable to enable $10=1 to 511 changed them i checked all wiring with multimeter from switch to switch all good connection and no short or crack im sure about wiring is correct as just remove them from BBx4 to BB32 and join 2Ys in Y1 driver see the photo and video **** i think not working , i upload photos in another replay below https://e.top4top.io/m_2809akaf51.mov https://f.top4top.io/m_2809kug962.mov https://g.top4top.io/m_28093s6rd3.mov https://h.top4top.io/m_2809newak4.mov https://e.top4top.io/m_2809akaf51.mov https://f.top4top.io/m_2809kug962.mov https://g.top4top.io/m_28093s6rd3.mov https://h.top4top.io/m_2809newak4.mov
tried to join motors wires with additional connector and insert them directly in BB connector 2red 2 blue 2 green 2 yellow , same result one video 1400mm no problem , another one 1700 stalling photos shows how i joined steppers motors (removed limit switches to show you wiring better)
if this is a belt drive machine then you have the motors wired incorrectly, one must be reversed. if it is leadscrew driven, then the wiring is ok (if both leadscrews turn the same direction) and your acceleration is probably too high for the current setting. and, have you flashed the BB32 with the latest software and the correct version? you are wiring the 2 Y motors into one driver as though you are going to use the 4th rotary axis on Y1, therefore you should flash the XYZA firmware, did you? if you are not going to use the 4th rotary axis, then flash the XYYZ firmware and use the Y and Y1 outputs for 1 motor each. and did you set the current as per the documentation that Peter linked to ? without enough current the motors will stall and sound just like your video. once the current is adjusted you can change the acceleration and max speed settings to suite the machine.
its ballscrew same as lead screw I increased current little but red led show up Will check acceleration which always 350 for year no problem
Is the motors ours? 3rd party might have incorrect specs (resistance for example) that causes issues in parallel where ours don't
