Hello, I am in the process of building a contraption using two "V-Slot NEMA 17 Linear Actuator Bundle (Lead Screw)" kits, so far so good but I could not help noticing that the gantry that came with those kits (I believe is called V-Slot Gantry Plate - Universal) is kind of thin and has already bend a little. Could someone point out a sturdier gantry that can pretty much work as an in-place replacement for the current one? Essentially, I would like to just take the default gantry and replace it with a more sturdier one but leave everything else the same. If there is no sturdier in-place exact replacement then an equivalent may work as long as everything else can stay the same in the kit. By the way, I looked around in the parts store and I see you sell gantry plates but is kind of hard for me to tell what will work and what will not work. So rather than try to guess and get something that may not work, I would really appreciate if someone would point me to a gantry that is guarantied to work. Thanks.
If you can buy 2 plates and just stick them together and use little bit longer screws to connect everything.
Sorry but there are no other plates that are designed to work with 60mm rail. Those are the first plates created for the OpenBuilds system 10 years ago and were kind of left behind as everything moved on towards the C-Beam when it was created later. As the poster above noted, you can double up the plates. Or as another option, if you're set up to do a bit of drilling, order thicker plates from a metal supplier and transfer the necessary holes.
Thank you, I would like to suggest that if you guys have any plans to continue to sell the 60mm rail you obsolete the current plate and replace it with a thicker sturdier one. To be honest, that current plate is inherently flawed (its simply to thin and weak), I believe is bending due to the radial force the wheels are exerting on the plate when they are adjusted for a snuggly fit. Having a single thicker plate will not only make things work better, look better, assemble easier but it will probably be cheaper than buying two. Two plates may work, but one thicker plate is definitely better than two plates. just my opinion. Thanks.
