Hi all, Attempting to connect to my OxCNC using Openbuilds software to try it out (using UGS until now). Software connects fine via USB and I can see it detects the correct firmware version of GRBL and can send reset commands for X, Y, Z - but when I click to move the CNC on the X,Y, Z, nothing happens. I have a feeling this is me not understanding the software as I can't see the GCode being sent either....? Any tips?
Are the motors engaging? No idea what controller you have but check $4 in grbl settings. Info from the serial log would help us as well.
to be clear, $4 has to be inverted on the Blackbox - ie this is the default in the versions of GRBL that OBCONTROL will install in the controller for you. So if you uploaded GRBL from OBCONTROL and do not have a Blackbox (|Ox usually had an Xpro controller) you need to change $4 to enable the drivers.
Hi all - I've been using Grbl 0.9 and UGS as my combo with an xpro as you guessed correctly - and then I've just installed OBControl to test it. If I follow, then I 'think' this shouldn't need the inversion? But think you're onto something regardless - will check $4! Thanks for tips!
grbl 0.9 not equal to grbl 1.1 (-: OBCOntrol likes 1.1 1.1 has slightly different pinouts, but it is possible to compile it with the correct settings for the old Xpro dowload the arduino IDE download and install the GRBL library change settings in config.h compile and install read all of Compiling Grbl · gnea/grbl Wiki , knowledge is power (-:
