This is my journey on building a rack and pinion Ox variant called the F-117 CNC.

A quiet, 8inx8in build area, Cartesian printer with permanently level bed. This is a compact, solid, inexpensive printer that will reliably print any type filament for thousands of hours while you sleep, fish, or play ball in the park.

A lightweight, portable, accurate 3D Printer that has a good sized print area and small overall footprint that is easy to build, with easy to source components. The design is OpenSource allowing those with the capability to make their own parts get up and running.

Hi everyone, im new to the world of lasercutters but i have been granted access for a Trotec laser for a while with old firmware and only compability trought Windows XP. Then i decided to build my own laser, with some easier workflow and support for Windows 10. Since im still a student i have limited resources, so i will try too use scrap parts as much as possible. So I am employed in the automotive industry and I walk by thousands of dollars of CNC products daily that are no use to me due to being a Technologist and not a machinist. This CNC will consist of 4 axis one removable 360 degree axis for turning alongside a x axis table Y axis stationary gantry and a Z axis attracted to the Y axis linear actuator.

I want build a frame that is as sturdy as possibility while at the same time keeping it as compact as possible. working area will be approx 1200mm x 600mm

The name of the printer is G&C Printer from Good & Cheap Printer. My goal was to design an printer that was good print quality and was cheap. The total cost of the printer is about 490€.

So we have new plates, stronger motors, belt drive reduction, but what should we do with them? In this article you might find the answer you were looking for as we took an “old” C-Beam machine and started to upgrade the X/Z body and added more torque and precision to the Z-axis.

Yet Another Poor's Man CNC (YAPCNC) is my first attempt to build a CNC. The idea is for the build to be as inexpensive as posible while being usable for my goals.

This laser is a beast. Designed by Jonathan Frost, and built with 45x45mm aluminum for ultimate rigidity. It has a 4'x3' bed with a pass through that can be utilized to cut full 8x4' sheets of plywood, and has a motorized bed. Rēzo is not only faster and more capable than lasers like Thunder Lasers Nova 51 and Aeon Nova 10, but the final build costs are 40-60% less than said commercially available machines. This is my 1st submission to openbuilds.com and my 1st venture into building a 3D Printer. The Phoenix 3d Printer is a kit from Ez3D, a company based out of Colorado, started and backed by successful Kick-starter and IndieGogo campaigns. The Phoenix 3d Printer kit is currently backlogged 10 to 12 weeks which means quite a wait. I will be chronicling my experience with this kit as I get it done.

A Cartesian printer using bushings for the Z axis instead of wheels or linear bearings. The design also synchronizes two Z axis screws with a timing belt for a level lift. I've been working on commercial woodworking CNC's for year's under shop owner's that didn't want me to progress any further at a certain point. This is a project I've wanting to build for about 10 years now. I can't wait for the freedom to build what I know is possible without any negative input.

Acquiring a CNC has been on my list for some time now. This concept is a bare bones, upgradeable machine that will not require a complete rebuild when new parts become available. With a cutting surface over 36" square, this beast should be capable of creating its own parts. Lowering the price to make upgrading and making this contraption beefier, faster, and more precise.

This build log will chronicle the construction of my oversize (1000mm X 1500mm) OX router.

An OX CNC router using Blue OX Solutions gantry plates, a Bosch Colt router, and most of the remaining parts coming from Openbuilds parts store. Table has about 22"x55" cutting capacity and I am planning on a combination T-Slot and vacuum hold down system.

This is the adult version of the QU-BD juvenile known as their OneUp. It not only uses extrusion framing instead of press board MDF, it is a full sized 8x8 build area w/ABS-Nylon capability. Only the OneUp's single Z axis driver concept is similar. I'm tempted to call it OneUpAdult for marketing.

Here is my first ever CNC build. A CNC Hotwire Foam Cutter. I will update about achievements. I would love to read from you guys - advices, ideas. Especially regarding the electronics. I feel confident with the hardware part which I can't say about the electronics part.

This is my first cnc build, never used one before and don't know too much besides what i've read a little bit about them online. It's probably going to be about 31" y axis with hopefully around 4ft x axis, z height is still to be determined.

I am building a simple home brewed printer. I have a background in industrial automation so I figured how hard could this be. The mechanical build was pretty smooth as was the electrical side. Now just getting plastic out the hotend is my stopping point.

I have a tendancy to over-build things so I will be balancing that tendacy against budget constraints and common sense as much as possible.
